Heavy spar, also called barite is a barium sulphate crystal. Barite can be found as thick to thin tabular crystals, usually in clusters with the crystals growing parallel to one another. Can be located in Germany and the U.S. Schalenblende is compact, fine grained sphalerite with a brown to yellow-cream color. It occurs in concentric layers with reniform surfaces. These surfaces may also contain intergrown wurtzite, marcasite, pyrite, and galena.

Containing both Barite and Schalenblende makes this specimen entirely special and unique. The patterns on each side look like a work of art created by Mother Earth. It's a perfect specimen to add to your collection. It's flat and smooth which makes it easy to set on large or smaller surface areas. This piece also looks really good on a flattering stand.
