Most of this mineral comes from Siberia, & it's formed in basic to ultrabasic metamorphic & igneous rocks. Diopside is a member of the pyroxene family & the vivid green color comes from chromium.
The green in this piece is so rich and vibrant. It reminds me of algae covering a rock in a lake or river. When you hold this piece up to the light, the green is semi-transparent & allows the light to partially shine through. Simply a gorgeous piece!
Metaphysically, diopside is known to be a creative stone & can boost creativity and inspiration. Diopside is also said to be related to love, commitment, & the heart. It's traditionally helpful for healing trauma & sometimes invokes cleansing tears. Sometimes it's even called the "crying stone" because of this.
