Orthoceras was an ancient mollusk that lived more than 400 million years ago. The name means straight horn, referring to the characteristic long, straight, conical shell. The limestone preserved shell is all that remains of this ancestor of our modern-day squid.

This fossil is perfect for any collector, educator, and any ocean themed room or office! The contrast in shades of black and grey make the orthoceras stand out in any setting, without the need for a display light!

Fossils are organic structures that have been preserved by minerals assuming the existing structure, in this case limestone has preserved the orthoceras, they are considered to have metaphysical properties of regeneration. This is to aid with starting new chapters of life and re-inventing yourself.
