Petrified wood is a fossil. It forms when plant material is buried by sediment & protected from decay due to oxygen and organisms. Then, groundwater rich in dissolved solids flows through the sediment, replacing the original plant material with Silica, Calcite, Pyrite, or another inorganic material such as Opal.

This piece is so gorgeous. It has such a light beige appearance on one side but when you flip it there are beautiful streaks of brown. This would be such a wonderful decorative piece in any home!

Petrified Wood looks great as a decoration or for specimen collection. Petrified Wood is used to help connect with the earth & nature. It is a good way for city dwellers to keep nature nearby & encourages people to respect their environment & live in harmony with the planet.
