Zeolites are a family of minerals and other related minerals. These minerals can include: Apophyllite, Chabazite, Stilbite, Heulandite, Goosecreekite, Laumonite, Natrolite, and others. This relatively large group of aluminosilicates all have one thing in common, they all contain large amounts of water. The name Zeolite originates from the Greek words "zeo" which means to boil, and "lithos", which means stone.
Metaphysically, zeolite is used as a healing stone and is believed to enhance the healing responses within our own bodies. It is also used to help remove toxins from the body such as drugs or alcohol. Zeolite has also been used to alleviate symptoms of minor abdominal discomforts such as bloating.
This specimen is useful in everyday life and is a must have for anyone who is interested in quirky crystals. It glistens brightly in the sunlight and I especially like how there's a variety of larger and tinier crystals to admire.
